| Founded in 1977 by Master Photographer Merrett Smith, MERIT-TEX is the only manufacturer of texture plates used to put an embossed pattern such as canvas onto a photograph. Portrait studios, art photographers, and color printing labs throughout the U.S. use the system by placing a photo on top of a MERIT-TEX plate and running it through a texture machine, which consists of two metal rollers under a consistent, extremely even pressure.
MERIT-TEX is based in New Jersey and proudly produces all of its products in the U.S.A.
